Getting started

Install and unlock

1. Open the disk image and drag TimeCal into Applications, then launch it from there. The location matters: macOS ties calendar permission to where the app lives.
2. Paste the license key from your Polar purchase email. The unlock screen links to your purchases if the email is buried.
3. Grant calendar access when macOS asks. TimeCal reads the same accounts as Apple Calendar: iCloud, Google, Exchange, and the rest. Your events never leave your Mac.

The lay of the land

1. Every calendar is a lane, and time runs left to right on one continuous timeline. The red line is now.
2. Scroll to zoom. An hour can fill the screen, and so can a year, and the moment under your cursor stays put while you move between them.
3. The sidebar lists your calendars. Drag to reorder, group the ones that belong together, and hide the noise.

Make it yours

1. The rules engine styles events for you: star anything with an important person in it, mute what you only need to glance at, or float a badge over what matters. Settings, Rules.
2. Tall rows can show each event’s notes beneath its title and time. Choose what blocks show in Settings, General.
3. Shade the hours outside your working day, and set each lane’s height from the sidebar.

Save your places

• ⌘DBookmark the current position. An open bookmark flies you back; a locked one shows only its saved ranges and folds the time between them into seams
• POpen the bookmarks panel
• LOpen the library: reusable event templates you drag onto a lane

Switching Macs, and help

1. A license covers two Macs. To move one: Settings, License, Deactivate this Mac, then paste your key on the new machine. You can also manage seats from your Polar purchases page.
